SAP to Acquire TechniData AG

SAP announced that it is acquiring long time partner Technidata AG, strengthening its offerings in the EHS and Sustainability area. Last year SAP purchased Clear Standards, an SaaS Enterprise Carbon Accounting software vendor. The EHS vendor market has a number of well established players (IHS, Enviance, Enablon, ProcessMap, Dakota Software) which may also make acquisition sense for large vendors like SAP or Oracle as environmental compliance functionality becomes more strategic as companies continue to invest in sustainability.
