Schneider Electric Purchases Summit Energy

The second Enterprise Energy and Carbon Accounting (EECA) vendor was acquired this month. Schneider Electric's purchase of Summit Energy for $268 million continues the movement by large firms into the energy, carbon and sustainability space. IBM purchased Tririga last week. Look for more acquisitions this year as the economy slowly recovers, energy prices rise and large companies look to buy versus build.
