Acquisitions continue this year as ESS is acquired by IHS. IHS continues it's consolidation of mid sized EHS vendors (IHS purchased ESP and Dolphin last year). IHS and ESS were 2 of the 7 Emerging Leaders in the Enterprise Carbon Accounting vendor space identified in our May 2009 research report.
In the last 18 months we have seen the following ECA acquisitions:
Q2 2008: Johnson Controls buys PWI Energy
Q2 2009: SAP purchases Clear Standards
Q2 2009: EnerNoc buys remain assess of Equilibrium
Q3 2009: IHS acquires ESS
